Women tend to have a hard time to take care of themselves because they care so much for other people. Not all selfishness is bad.
Between work, career, housework and caring for spouse and children, where is the time to really take care of yourself? I have heard many stories about women who have let themselves go and have lost themselves because they are so selfish. It is very common to be so involved in giving to others that we fail to give to ourselves. Unselfish care is very important to us the emotional, physical and mental well-being, and we can't ignore it. It is time for busy women to realize that she can care for others and caring for herself, too.
Three common traps
"I don't have time for myself." This is the oldest excuse in the book. Don't fall into the trap of believing that there is no way to give yourself the time of undivided. You have the time, believe me.
"I feel guilty just taking time for myself." This is a common feeling. Just the fact that you have thought this is a sign that you are the person giving and caring. Your loved ones have to benefit from your dedication. It is time for You to benefit from the attention given to yourself. You really can give more to others if you are at your best.
"I'm not worthy of self indulgence." Think of minutes, hours, day, year, week, and year that you are dedicated to doing things for other people. As long as the amount of giving to others is more than the amount of time spent on yourself, you have no right to treat yourself.
The solution for a reason
Take time for yourself. You have to give yourself the time alone to focus myself. It doesn't have to be 2 hours a day. All you need is about 15-30 minutes of uninterrupted time. You can only do this every day or so. It doesn't have to be the same time every day. It is also possible to have extended ' me time ' once a week (probably for an hour or more). Make it quite often have special time before you burn or be super-stress.
Sometimes you will need to say no to people. It's okay to do that. There is only so much time in a day. It is important that you use it wisely. Prioritize, and learn to say no to things that You can't do. Reduce extra favors on your to do list. You are not a machine supports, you can say no.
Forget the guilt. As I mentioned earlier, you can really give more to others if you are at your best. Consider ' me time ' as your battery charging. You will have a lot more to give if you are intact within you. If you feel better, others around you will also feel better. If you don't take care of yourself, you eventually will suffer, and so does everyone else that you wish to treat.
You deserve it. Take time for yourself doesn't mean that you think you are the most important people in the world. This means, however, that you are important. You don't have to put yourself at the top of your list, just don't put yourself at the bottom. If others around you are worthy of care and attention, then so are you. Not only do you deserve today, but you need them for your own well-being.
What to do for yourself
Physical rejuvenation. There are several ways to rejuvenate the body. Exercise that involves stretching and focused breathing can really refresh you. Exercise has been shown to improve mood and overall health. After a long day and it's hard, there's also nothing like a nice hot bubble bath. There are also wrong by taking personal time for a NAP.
Beauty treatments. Make an appointment with beauty. You can get your hair and nails done. You can also order a spa massage. If money is tight, you can always try a new look, paint your nails yourself, or just spend a little extra time to make yourself look better than you normally do. Looking for the best you're going to help you feel your best.
To listen to music. Put your favorite music and simply eliminate everything else. Forget what you've just done and what you will do later. Enjoy a relaxing moment.
